How to type symbols with Alt key

ALT symbols

Did you know By using [alt] and certain key combinations, you can actually create symbols from the fundamental keyboard?

I believe most of you would have some extent of understanding on this, but what you need to know is how and what types of symbols are out there. Extremely useful for a final year engineering student rushing his thesis...

The How

While holding down the Alt key, input numbers on the keypad (Only the numbers on the keypad will work) When you finish entering the numbers, release the Alt key and the symbol will appear.

For laptops, you will have to activate the num lock key function and use the keypad numbers .

The What

Search for the character map utility on your windows to see the full possible list of symbols (Check out different fonts like Wingdings for more variety)

Symbols which can be typed out will have its alt key combination on the bottom right as shown below:

Made these symbols with the character map.
